Fall Tablescape

The decorations I used on my dining room table are very simple, but bring a warm feeling into the house.  I started with a burlap table runner with leaves stamped on it in fall colors.  You could easily make a similar one yourself.  I purchased this one at TJ Maxx for $12.99.  I love making things myself, but sometimes if the price is right you can save yourself some time and effort.  The box on the table came from a yard sale.  My mother-in-law actually picked it up for me.  It had an old, dusty, and faded floral arrangement in it.  The woman she bought it from told her it is a drawer from a sewing machine table.  Perfect!  I took out the old flowers and got to work.  I am happy with the result.  All it took was a glass jar, a candle, some pinecones, and a little burlap for filler.  I have a small dining room table so I didn't need a large arrangement taking up a lot of space.  This works perfectly.

It's All In The Reclaimed Details.....

I love decorating with things that have a past life.  One of my favorite ways to spend a weekend is going to antique stores or yard sales where I can find something that will bring character to my home.  I plan on posting pictures of my design projects and using this blog to help keep my creative juices flowing.  Recently I have been decorating for the Fall season.  I love Fall!  I have completed the décor on my front porch and just last night I added some great Fall pieces to my dining room table.  Hopefully I will have pictures posted soon.

Happy Fall!
