It has been so long since I blogged last. I can't say that I have done anything creative to share with the Internet world, but I have been busy with regular life stuff. I plan on continuing to show my decorative efforts on the blog, but I also want to use this blog as a regular journal. So I will try to post more regularly with just some of my regular life stuff.
This weekend my Mom and I went shopping at the Tanger Outlet in Branson. We shopped until we dropped. I just want to mention the great 70% off sale items at Anne Taylor. Wow! 70% Off. I think we purchased about six items of clothing each. I'm not sure how long this sale is going on, but if you are in the Branson area you should check it out. If you are more of an online shopper they have 60% off of some sale items right now. There are lots of cute pieces to choose from.
Also, on Saturday night we had a surprise 60th birthday party for my MIL. It was really just dinner with family, but she was very surprised. A good time was had by all. I wish I had pictures to post. Sunday was spent doing the regular stuff, house cleaning and grocery shopping. All in all it was a good weekend. I hope yours was too!

More Fall Fun
I have been really excited to complete this post showing off my front porch decorations for fall. It all started with an old metal cart I found at a flea market. The flea market it was purchased at is one of my favorites because it is filled to the brim with junk. I can look for hours and dig until I find some real treasures. Here is the cart in its original state. I think I paid around $12.00 for it.
I sanded the cart until it was pretty smooth and then spray painted it a happy yellow. I knew that I had some other pieces laying around to combine into a beautiful fall display. The only other things I needed were some pumpkins and gourds. Last fall my Mom and Dad grew gourds and pumpkins in their garden. They brought me several to decorate with. Unfortunately, this year it got too hot, too soon for them to grow any. One day I went out with my husband to check the cows and near our pond there was a large vine growing. We kept checking it regularly to see if anything was growing on it. To our surprise it became full of gourds. When fall ended last year we had just dumped the old gourds out in the field. It was a moist and shady area, so they managed to grow. We couldn't believe it. Here is a picture of our crop.

It was so nice not to have to buy them. I just needed to purchase a couple of large pumpkins to complete my display. Here is the final product.
I love projects like this one. Taking pieces that I already have around the house and creating something is so rewarding.
Have a great week!
